Employment in the Field of Medicine in Trinidad and Tobago
The Ministry of Health has informed as follows:
1. All foreign medical graduates who wish to seek employment in Trinidad and Tobago must first ascertain from the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago whether they are eligible to work in the country.

3. In the event that the applicant can be registered, an application for employment should be forwarded to the Regional Health Authority of his/her choice.

6. Applicants who wish to pursue their internship in Trinidad and Tobago are also required to apply to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health who is responsible for the employment of Medical Interns.
7. Work permits are also required to enable the employment of non-nationals. A work permit would not be granted unless adequate security is lodged with the office of the Chief Immigration Officer. The security bond or cash is equivalent to the cost of a one-way ticket to the applicant’s country of origin.
