Southpointe Community Association Scrapbook Club

Scrapbook club

What is Scrapbooking?

Scrapbooking is organizing and displaying photos and memorabilia in a creative meaningful way. It preserves history by identifying dates, people and events. By cutting (or cropping) photos and memorabilia, we get rid of the excess or the background and keep the focus. We use tools to cut, decorate and display these items. We add words, borders, stickers, etc…to make them even more special and eye appealing.

The SCA Scrapbook Club will give you the opportunity to get together with other people who do scrapbooking. It allows you access to resources you might not have alone, such as ideas and tools, gives you a chance to learn new techniques and skills.

Club Update – July 2008

Cost for yearly membership to the Southpointe Community Association is $10 and meeting fees are $2.00 for members and $5.00 for non- members. Our club uses the money for our events, tools and equipment, advertising, prizes, meeting supplies, workshops, etc.

We now have some tools and equipment for all to use.
Our newest, most used, and exciting tool is the Cricut. We also have a custom cutting system mat and blades, Jazzy patterns, Wavy frame Patterns, 12" Decorative trimmer, photo labeling pencil, 12" straight trimmer, Heart Maker, Mini Heart Maker, Hexagon Maker, Mini Hexagon Maker, mini circle maker, Fancy square Maker, Star punch, Classic corner rounder.  This year we have purchased several new cartridges for the cricut.

Members volunteer to bring snacks once or twice per year. Drinks are not provided, everyone brings their own.

We meet every 1st Friday and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7pm to 10pm at the Southpointe Community Building, 220 Stoneway Drive.

Everyone helps each other set up and take down tables.
We have a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon crop once in a while, if enough interest and commitment is put forth.
