Public Advisory: Thefts from vehicles in West End
(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service wish to remind all vehicle owners
to ensure their vehicles are locked and that valuables are out of view
and/or properly secured.
Residents in the West End have experienced a recent rash of thefts from
vehicles, particularly in the South Barrhaven areas of Heart's Desire,
Stonebridge, Longfields and Chapman Mills. Since June 1st, over 35
reports have been received by police of vehicles having been rummaged
through and property stolen from them. Many of these vehicles had been
left unlocked in residential driveways. Most occurrences were in the
early morning hours. Investigations are continuing.
