Bill Craig is the owner and operator of Mister Muskie Charters. Bill and son James specialize in big muskies on the upper reaches of the Ottawa River. Bill has 30 years of experience angling on these waters, and 25 years of experience as a muskie guide in the area. Bill brings a detailed knowledge of the relationship between muskies, their forage, and their seasonal movements / patterns. His presentation methods to these fish are unique, but highly effective. Many of Bill’s clients boat muskies in excess of 50 inches each season, and he enjoys a very high return rate among clients year after year.

Few guides in North America can lay claim to the numbers of huge fish that Bill boats and releases every year while fishing with friends and clients. Bill is one of few anglers alive to ever boat and successfully release not one, but multiple 60” class muskies over the years. These releases include a monstrous 62.25” fish that is the recognized WORLD and CANADIAN LIVE RELEASE RECORD natural strain muskellunge. Bill (through a client) also holds the weight record for the Ontario Provincial hybrid/tiger muskellunge (kept). Bill is recognized among his peers as one of the top muskie guides in Canada!

Mister Muskie Charters offers clients a variety of guiding packages, including bed and breakfast accommodations.

Bill was profiled in the February 1999 issue of Ontario Out of Doors magazine, and is currently working with another Canadian muskie guide (Steve Wickens) on a series of co-authored feature articles for this magazine. He has been featured on several European TV shows, and in local newspapers. Bill is also one of the founding members of the Canadian Association of Muskie Guides.

In addition to offering guiding services, Bill also offers seminars and hosts a one-day School of Muskie Fishing to give students a good grounding in the basics of equipment selection, seasonal movements and habits, predator - prey relationships, and presentation tactics.
