Who Is CINAA?

The Canadian Irregular Network Access Association (CINAA) provides a forum for the Canadian telecommunications industry to identify issues involving fraud and to develop solutions. Currently, the list of CINAA members is as follows:

CINAA's Mandate

CINAA's mandate includes development of training and awareness programs as a means of combating fraud. The Internet was chosen as an effective means of increasing general public awareness of fraud and fraud prevention measures.

CINAA's mandate also includes:

To serve as a focal point for telecom fraud information.
To encourage the development of anti-fraud products and services.
To promote improvements to Canadian laws with regards to misuse of telecommunication services.
To provide training material to law enforcement officers, prosecutors and justices.
To provide an environment for effective cooperation amongst CINAA members.

Eligibility for Membership

Membership in CINAA is open to any carrier or reseller operating a switch that utilizes local exchange carrier provided access facilities or services (the carrier or reseller may or may not be facilities based),

Law enforcement agencies are also eligible for full membership.
